Noise maker crafts are the perfect idea for kids to get in on the fun of celebrating the New Year. These kids craft ideas use simple craft supplies like cardboard rolls, paper plates, empty tin cans and some crayons, markers or glitter glue to really dress them up. One of our favorite noise makers is a lollipop drum, also known as the spinning drum. Use the directions below to have your kids make a fun noise maker for the upcoming celebration. Take your empty ribbon spool and trace two circles with colored construction paper. Cut out the circles and using the stick glue, glue on to both ends of the ribbon spool. Decorate the circles with the year, fireworks, stars or any design you want to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Take the BBQ wooden skewer and poke it through the bottom of the inside spool. Continue to push the skewer through until you feel it hit the other side of the spool. Do not poke it through the top. If you do poke it all the way through, be sure to cut off the sharp end so no
