How Do You Make Neti Pot Solution?
Neti pots are an ancient yogi remedy for keeping your nose clear during a cold, treating chronic sinus infections or for combating allergies. A neti pot is a small vessel, traditionally made from clay (economic plastic versions are also available today) with a spout, which you use to pour a saline solution through your nasal passages. Special neti pot salt can be found in health food stores or homeopathic pharmacies, or you can also use regular non-iodized table salt. Fill the neti pot with 8 ounces of warm water. The water should be as close to body temperature as you possible. Add 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon non-iodized salt or neti salt. Stir gently with a clean spoon until salt is completely dissolved. Lean over a sink or basin, and tilt your head to one side. Pour approximately half the saline solution into the upper nostril.
