Mississippi Mud Pie Cake is a rich chocolate cake that has been in my family for years. I’m not sure where the recipe originally came from but never the less, it has been enjoyed by my family and hopefully will be enjoyed by yours. It also won “Best Cake” in my Brother and Dad’s Boy Scout cooking contest years ago. Mississippi Mud Pie Cake has been inspired by the muddy waters of the Mississippi River, and this is where you will find the challenge in this recipe. Depending on where you live, whether it is high altitude or low altitude, you may have to adjust the ingredients by adding a little more flour, water, and even adjusting how long you keep the cake in the oven.
