How Do You Make Microwave Heating Pads?
Microwave heating pads are a sought after commodity at our house! My husband hunts them for arthritis, my daughter for menstrual cramps, my son for headaches, and me for sinus pain. These are so cheap and easy to make. They make great gifts, and I sold a bunch at five dollars a piece when I needed some quick money one time for a birthday! Cut four squares out of fabric around 9″ square. We are making two layers to our microwave heating pad. We are going to be sewing with a serger or a very close zig-zag stitch, wrong sides together. Sew both pairs all around but one side. See Diagram #1. Fill One Square 2/3 full with rice or seed corn; sew up firmly, being careful on all seams to secure threads. Microwave Heating pads need to be secure! Slide the closed microwave heating pad down in the outer cover, and sew opening closed.
