How do you make Microsoft Word the default word processing program on Mac OS Tiger?

Hello DiscoverAustralia, Well, first off, you can delete the older version of Word. You don’t really need this. If it won’t allow you to delete it inside the trash, get it out of the trash, highlight the icon, hit the Command ( ) + I keyboard combination, or the File > Get Info menu command to get the Get Information window. Go down to the bottom of the screen to the Ownership & Permissions. Click on the Details flippy-arrow thing so it expands down further. Click on the padlock icon (you’ll have to type in your administrator’s password). Now, you can drag the icon back into the trash and Empty Trash. Now with each document file, you may need to highlight the icon and get that same Get Info technique that I mentioned above. There’s an “Open with:) section with a drop-down menu and you can select which program to open this icon with.
