How Do You Make Mexican Shredded Beef?
This is such a yummy comfort food that you can just put in the crock pot in the morning, and enjoy in the evening. My family loves it during the winter especially, because it is so warm and filling. You should always spray your crock pot with a no-stick spray to prevent a long clean-up later. I use Pam Original, and it doesn’t change the flavor in any way. Season your roast with salt and pepper and place in the crock pot. Cut in half if it won’t fit in one big piece. Add the tomato sauce, chiles and chile powder. Chop the onion and add to the crockpot. Mince garlic and add as well. Cook on low heat for 8 to 10 hours. Before serving, shred the beef with a pair of forks. Serve in a tortilla with cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, guacamole, etc. We also enjoy it with a side of black beans and spanish rice.
