How Do You Make Marshmallow Dreidels?
Traditionally children play the dreidel game during the eight days of Hanukkah as a fun way to remember Jewish heritage. Dreidels made of marshmallow mimic the shape of this game’s toy and offer a fun snack for children during the holiday season. They are sturdy enough to spin, as well, giving children of all ages an enjoyable and edible treat. Choose the material you want to use for the top, or handle, of your dreidel. Thin pretzel sticks work best, but licorice whips also can be used. Make a hole in the center of the marshmallow and poke the pretzel through, making sure that a little bit sticks through the other side. For a more savory dreidel, use a marshmallow covered in toasted coconut. Dipping the marshmallow in chocolate and letting it dry first also adds a little extra fun to this treat. Unwrap a Hershey’s Kiss and bore a small hole in the center of the flat side so it will fit the pretzel. Hershey’s Hugs or other varieties can be used. Fit the top of the dreidel to the kiss. I
