How Do You Make Macaronatha (Greek Meat Sauce For Macaroni)?
Macaronatha is a tomato-based meat sauce that uses beef or lamb. A hint of cinnamon flavors this delicious sauce. Pour it over macaroni, spaghetti, or your favorite pasta. Sauté the onions and garlic in the butter or oil until the onions are soft. Add the meat. Cook until the meat is brown. Stir in salt, pepper, oregano and tomato paste. Pour in the water and wine. Add the cinnamon stick. Mix the sauce until all ingredients are well combined. Simmer over low heat for one hour, stirring occasionally. Pour the sauce over cooked macaroni or pasta.
