Grate the bar of soap or chop it into small cubes. Pour the soap shavings/cubes into the bowl. Pour 2 ½ cups of water into the bowl and stir well. Heat the soap and water mixture in the microwave at 50 percent power for 45 seconds. Remove the bowl from the microwave. Stir the soap and water mixture. Place the bowl back into the microwave and heat the mixture at 10-second intervals until the mixture liquefies. Do not overheat. Remove the liquid soap from the microwave.
