How Do You Make Lighted Wine Bottles?

You can choose to leave the label on if the bottle commemorates an occasion. Write a date on the label or somewhere inconspicuous. Put on safety glasses and gloves. Be sure to wear a long-sleeved shirt. Drill a hole in the back of the bottle near the bottom using a 1/4″ carbide bit. The hole will need to be big enough to thread the lights through. Be sure to rinse the bottle to remove any remaining glass. If you plan to frost or paint your bottle, now is the time. (You will decorate last.) Try to get a nice, sheer look by spraying bottle with frosting spray. Let bottle dry for 24 hours. The more coats, the more subdued the lights. I recommend frosting for clear bottles.
