How Do You Make Light Rays Visible?

0

We don’t see the rays that come from the sun, but we see the items the rays reflect off of. The same principle holds with any other beam of light. There is an experiment you can perform that lets you make the invisible beams visible. This makes for a great science fair project or class project. Get an old shoe box and cut a hole in the front end of the box. This hole should be slightly smaller than the flashlight you are going to use with the experiment. If you are too young to use scissors, ask your parents for help. Place the flashlight inside the box so that the light end is up against the hole in the box. If you don’t think your flashlight will stay still, you can tape it in place. Turn the flashlight on, and place the lid back on the box. Place the box on the edge of your table. Lay a sheet on the floor if you don’t have a surface that can be vacuumed. Stand back and shake some baby powder into the air. You should now be able to see the light beam by all the pieces of powder bounc
