Learning to make your own handmade, herbal soaps are not only easy but you will know exactly what is going into your product. Dry skin and allergies normally are due to the harsh ingredients used in commercially made soaps. Lavender is known for it’s healing and soothing properties to calm the senses. Sage is widely used and is considered a sacred herb by many Native Americans to balance and purify the Spirit. Olive oil is a very rich moisturizing agent and is perfect for sensitive and dry skin. The combination of Lavender, Sage and Olive Oil will give you a clean, earthy and sensuously soft bathing experience. Combine the dried herbs (about 1/4 to 1 cup) and the Olive Oil into the Double Boiler, stirring gently. Slowly heat the herbs making sure to stir them every once in a while. Heat the herbs to only about 120 to 130 degrees, otherwise you will *cook* the herbs instead of infusing it into the Olive Oil Allow the herbs to simmer about an hour.
