Making your own lavender perfume with dried lavender is easy, inexpensive and results in a luxurious scent that can’t be rivaled by storebought colognes. Using dried lavender, jasmine flowers and common vodka, you can make your own perfume in two week’s time. This recipe makes approximately 1 pint of lavender perfume. Grind 2 tablespoons dried lavender flowers in a mortar and pestle as finely as possible. Transfer the ground flowers to a small mixing bowl. Add 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon dried jasmine flowers to the bowl and mix thoroughly with the ground lavender flowers. Transfer the flower and cinnamon mixture to a 1-pint canning jar. Fill the jar with pure vodka, and place the lid on tightly. Label the jar with the contents and date. Allow the lavender perfume to steep for 2 weeks, never removing the lid, in a cool, dry place. Shake once per day to redistribute the ingredients.
