How Do You Make Kids Sidewalk Chalk?
For hopscotch, tic-tac-toe or just plain doodles, this sidewalk chalk is just the thing! Keep a stash of this chalk on hand, made of plaster of paris and tempera paints, to inspire your budding artists! Pour the plaster of paris into the container and stir in most of the water using the crafts stick. Add 3 tablespoons of the paint. Mix well to remove any lumps and add a little water until the mixture feels like pancake batter. Seal one end of the toilet paper tube with tin foil and secure tightly with the rubber band. Pour the mixture into the toilet paper tube. If it starts to seep through, wrap the tube in tape. Let the mixture dry completely, about 24 hours. Score the toilet paper tube with a knife to remove the chalk easily. To make other colors, repeat the process using paint colors of your choice.
