Schleich model horses are popular with collectors of all ages due to the large variety of models available and the low cost compared with other types of model horses. A common problem that Schleich collectors find is that it is difficult to find accessories in the right scale. Making your own accessories can be very rewarding, and even beginners will find it easy to do. Purchase a few blocks of polymer clay from your local craft store. Useful colors for making apples or other treats for your Schleich model horses include orange, red, brown and green. Break off a small pea-sized piece of red polymer clay from the block and roll the clay in between your palms to soften it. Once it is soft, roll it into a ball. Take the tip of your pencil and push it down into the top of the red ball to make a hole that goes about 1/3 of the way through the ball.
