How Do You Make Italian Easter Meat Pie?
Italian Easter Meat Pie is more commonly known as Pizza Rustica. It’s a traditional Easter dish made with different meats and cheese and baked as a pie. It’s easy enough to make but beware…it will be gone in no time. Absolutely delicious and can be served either hot or cold. Mix the cheeses (mozzarella that has been cut into chunks) ricotta and the grated parmesan and then add the eggs (one at a time). Then add the 2 tbsp water. If you are using any raw meat (such as sausage) make sure to cook it first. Generally the rule of thumb is 3 lbs of meat so divide it (ham, pastrami, sausage and salami)according to preference if you like one more than the other. Make sure all meat is dry before adding to wet mix. Add seasonings. Pour the mixture into the two (2) pastry lined pie plates Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes and then reduce the temperature to 325 degrees and cook for an additional 40 minutes. Top should be very browned and center should seem firm before you take it out of the ove
