How Do You Make Ice Cream Cakes?
Store bought ice cream cakes can cost from $16.00 to $40.00 or more! Make your own with your favorite ice cream, favorite fillings, and whipped topping for a fraction of the cost! Soften the ice cream. Choose one flavor of ice cream for the bottom layer and spread it evenly in the spring form pan. Sprinkle the top of this layer with filling choices (crushed cookies, nuts, chopped candy, etc). Pour fudge sauce (or favorite ice cream topping) evenly over the filling bits. Spread the second flavor of ice cream carefully over the filling layer. Freeze at least four hours or overnight. Remove the ice cream cake from the freezer and open the spring edge of the pan. Set it aside. Frost the cake with the non-dairy whipped topping. Decorate the ice cream cake with foods that freeze well, if you like. Return to freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes.
