How Do You Make Hot Pepper Jelly Christmas Gifts?

If you’re trying to save money and give practical gifts for Christmas, then you might want to consider giving home canned hot pepper jelly to your spice-loving friends. I made these several years ago and they were a very popular gift. Wash the canning jars in hot soapy water. Rinse well and scald in a pot of boiling water. Remove from water using tongs and allow to air dry on the counter. Coarsely chop all of the peppers and put them into the blender with the vinegar. If you don’t want the jelly to be really hot then you can cut back on the jalapenos, using only one or two. Transfer the chopped pepper and vinegar mixture into the saucepan. Add the butter and sugar and mix well. Stir this until it comes to a full rolling boil. Add the pectin and return to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. Allow this to boil for 1 minute. Remove from stove and pour the hot pepper mixture into the sterilized jars, coming to 1/8 inches from the top. Wipe the rims before placing lids and rings on. Tighte
