How Do You Make Hot Cocoa From Scratch?
Hot cocoa is a less fattening alternative to hot chocolate. It is made with cocoa powder and usually skim milk; hot chocolate on the other hand is made from ground chocolate which contains cocoa butter. In just a few simple steps, hot cocoa easily replaces the typical pre-packaged hot chocolate. Step 1 Heat skim milk in a pot on the stove until it’s at a boil. Step 2 Scoop two plentiful scoops of fresh cocoa into a cup or large mug and fill the cup half full of the warm milk. Step 3 Stir thoroughly before adding more skim milk to fill the cup. Step 4 Leave room in the cup for adding a sweetener, such as sugar or marshmallows, before blending completely.
