How Do You Make Honey Lavender Irish Soda Bread?
My own rendition of honey soda bread, with a touch of lavender to give it a remarkable and unique taste. First of all, finding the proper Lavender Essential Oil is key. It needs to be true Essential Oil. Here are signs to look for: -Oil is in dark, well-concealed glass bottle. -It will have its authentic name on label: Lavender Augustifolia -It will have the country of production (i.e. Bulgaria) -It will list how it was made (i.e. ‘Steam Distilled’) You can find this online or at a local massage/spa supply or herbal store. Now, on to the baking! Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In Large bowl, combine flour, salt & baking soda; stir until well-mixed. Add honey, buttermilk, egg, and Lavender. Stir just until moistened. Place dough in greased 2-Quart Casserole Dish. Lighly drizzle honey on evenly on top. Bake @ 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes until top is golden brown. Cool completely before cutting.
