Though vinegar as a household cleaner may seem off-putting, rest assured that the odor evaporates as the liquid dries. Spray the solution on the stained fabric or carpet. If you are using this solution on nice leather shoes, you may want to do a spot check on the interior of a lip or other discreet spot.
