How Do You Make Homemade Pimiento Cheese?
Homemade pimiento cheese is delicious and easy to make. When I serve this homemade pimiento cheese, people are always interested in my recipe. Most people can not believe how easy it is to make. Give it a try; it is superior to what you can buy. Pimiento cheese is great for lunches, picnics, brunches and formal or informal teas. This spread will keep in a covered container in the refrigerator for several days. Grate 8 to 10 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese. Use a hand grater or use the grating blade if you have a food processor. Place cheese in a mixing bowl. Empty the jar of pimientos into the bowl. Add the sugar and salt and pepper to taste. Add 3 heaping tablespoons mayonnaise and stir to combine. Add more mayonnaise to make the mixture to the desired consistency. Remember: do not add too much mayonnaise at once. It is easier to add more rather than to take away.
