When making homemade luau invitations, there is an array of images you can use to embellish the cards, such as pineapples, coconuts, palm trees, grass skirts, Tiki torches, hula girls, Hawaiian patterns, hibiscus flowers and orchids, tropical beverages, sandy beaches, ukuleles and straw hats. If you can find small luau trinkets at craft stores or scrapbook stores, those can be glued onto the border of this invitation, for a three-dimensional look. Begin with 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch heavy copy paper. You can buy envelopes that will fit this size of paper when the paper is folded in half, horizontally. You can also use printer paper that is designed for cards which are folded horizontally. Use the computer and printer to print the interior, text portion of the card.
