How Do You Make Homemade Cheese Danish?

0

This quick and easy Cheese Danish pastry recipe offers and inexpensive and homemade alternative to buying Danishes at the store or coffee shop. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray or shortening. Unroll one package of crescent rolls and press into the bottom of the pan. Press perforations together to form one flat sheet and ease the edges of the dough up the pan slightly. Combine cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg, and vanilla in a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly. Spread cheese mixture over the dough. Unroll remaining crescent dough and place over the cream cheese mixture, pinching together the perforations. Press edges together to seal the cheese mixture inside the dough. Combine margarine, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and pecans (optional). Spread evenly over the top of the dough. Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into rectangles to serve warm.
