Homemade biscuits are healthier and contain no preservatives. Hold a sifter over a large mixing bowl and dump in 2 cups of flour. Sift in to the bowl by lightly tapping the sides of the sifter. Add 2 tsp. of baking soda and 1/2 tsp. of salt in to the mixing bowl. Combine ingredients. Soften 4 tbsp. of butter (1/2 a stick) in the microwave. It should take about 20 seconds, but the time depends on your microwave. You can take the butter out ahead of time and allow it to soften naturally while sitting out on a countertop.
