How Do You Make Home Made Barbeque Sauce?
Finding the right barbeque sauce from the store can be hard. Most are too sweet or have a strong vinegar taste. There is a time and a place for both. If you travel in the northeast regions of the United States you will find most barbeque sauces are derived from a thin vinegar base where as if you travel to the mid-west you’ll find a thick sweet tomato or ketchup based sauce. Here in the southwest you’ll find a sauce that is almost right in between the two but also showcases a bit of a smoke flavor. In a medium sauce pan melt the butter. Add the onion and garlic and cook until soft. Add the salt, chili powder, brown sugar and allow to cook for apx. 1 minute. Add the vinegar and Worcestershire sauce and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Add the catsup, Tabasco and 1 cup water and stir until well mixed. Simmer over medium-low heat for 30 minutes.
