How Do You Make Hawaiian Punch Change Color?
This is a good science fair project for middle school students. It has the quality of being unique, so it will draw attention from the judging panel. By following the instructions, students or anyone will be able to turn the Hawaiian Punch into a different color, and learn about how sunlight affects color fading. You do not have to limit yourself with this one flavor of Hawaiian Punch. There are orange, green, and blue varieties of Hawaiian Punch as well. Try them all to see if any of the other colors are affected by sunlight. Purchase several 2-liter bottles of Fruit Juicy Red Hawaiian Punch. Keep one bottle of Hawaiian Punch as a control sample and simply store it inside. Observe the weather conditions outside for a moderately sunny day. Find a location outdoors where the bottles can receive direct sunlight, and where they will not be tampered with by anyone else.
