How Do You Make Hard Brown Sugar Soft?
Have you ever been in the middle of baking something, only to reach for the brown sugar and discover that it is one rock hard solid clump? Don’t worry. There is a very simple solution to soften that rock hard brown sugar! Step 1 Get your hardened brown sugar and place it into a glass microwave safe container. Step 2 Place your bowl of hard brown sugar in the microwave and microwave for about 20-30 seconds. It’s better to start out with less time so that you are less likely to burn the sugar and end up with a big melted mess. Step 3 Take a fork and try to break up the sugar. Your fork should easily slide into the clump of brown sugar. Stir what bit has been softened, if any. Step 4 If the brown sugar is still hard, repeat steps 2 and 3 until it is softened. Depending on how hard the sugar is, it may take several trips to the microwave to soften it.
