How Do You Make Handcrafted Paper With Recycled Newspaper?
The next best thing to making your own paper from scratch is to make it from recycled paper. Newspaper is one of the cheapest and commonly available types of paper that you can recycle. Rather than throw it out, collect old newspaper and read on to learn how to transform it into handcrafted paper, and possibly save a tree or two while you’re at it. Cut up the newspaper into two-inch squares by hand or with scissors. Cut off both legs from the pair of tights. Bend the wire hanger into the shape and size of the sheet of paper that you wish to make. Stretch one leg of the tights over the bent wire so that it is tight and flat. Place some pieces of newspaper into the blender, about ¾-way full. Pour in 1cup of water. Blend the paper on high power for at least 3 minutes, until the paper is completely disintegrated. Add some food coloring in colors of your choice. Blend again to mix it evenly into the newspaper pulp. Pour 1cup of water into a large container. Add 2 tbsp of glue to the water.
