You can make your own unique Halloween mask with latex in a few steps. Let your imagination take over as you create anything from a fairy princess to a really nasty looking monster. This is an artistic project, incorporating sculpture and painting. The process is somewhat challenging, but well worth the effort to bring your unique Halloween vision to life. Using oil-based clay, sculpt the image of your mask. To sculpt a full-head mask, you need a mannequin head, balloon or other head-shaped object to sculpt over. Form the clay into the rough shapes of the desired image, applying the clay over the mannequin head or balloon. Work each area of the image slowly by hand to bring out the details of your mask idea. Consider using traditional sculpting tools to create fine details. Make a mold out of gypsum. The mold is a reverse copy of the sculpture. Apply the gypsum evenly to the sculpture in a thick layer.
