How Do You Make Half A Recipe Of Authentic Greek Baklava?

0

Baklava is a delicious dessert with layers nuts, honey, phyllo dough, butter, cinnamon and cloves. This mid-eastern treat has been around for centuries and I put this recipe together over 40 years ago and it’s a family favorite. Making a full recipe is a lot of baklava, so I found a way to cut the recipe down without compromising the taste. This recipe yields about 30 pieces. Remove phyllo dough from the wrapping and place under a damp dish towel to keep the phyllo dough soft. Mix the walnuts with the cinnamon and set aside. Melt the butter and set aside. Using a pastry brush, brush butter on the bottom of baking dish, and add 2 sheets of phyllo dough, folding phyllo dough edges to edge of the pan, repeat this step until there is at least 8 sheets of phyllo dough on the bottom. Sprinkle 1/4 c. of the nut mixture on top of the buttered phyllo dough, and add 2 layers of phyllo dough on top, butter, and repeat this until all the nuts have been used. Make certain there is at least 6 sheets
