A barrette, strip of satin, and needle and thread can be used to make a hair bow accessory at home. Cut 5 inches off of your 29-inch ribbon. Take the larger piece of ribbon. Create the two loops of a bow without tying a knot in the center. Place an open barrette onto the back of the bow at the center. Thread a needle with a long piece of thread and tie a knot at one end of the thread. Sew the barrette into the satin bow by weaving the needle and thread through the openings in the barrette and through the center front of the bow and then weaving back the other way. Take the shorter piece of satin ribbon and fold it in half lengthwise. Tie a simple knot in the 5-inch piece of satin.
