Ground turkey is often used as a healthy alternative to beef. The texture is similar and the taste is just as flavorful, but the fat content is significantly lower. One pound of ground turkey has approximately 28 grams of fat, while the same amount of ground beef contains about 84 grams. This recipe yields between 14 to 18 ground turkey meatballs. Pour the milk and nutmeg into a small bowl and stir well. Add the breadcrumbs to the bowl and let it stand for 10 minutes. Strain the milk from the breadcrumbs and set them aside.
