How Do You Make Great Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies?
Making cookies is great no matter what time of year. My daughter made cookies very similar to this great recipe for Double Chocolate Oatmeal for 4H one year. I remember them well as she got counted off for them not being sweet enough for the judge. The cocoa gives it the chocolate flavor but it’s not sweet like chocolate chips. This recipe actually has chocolate chips in it so the 4H judge probably would have liked them better. If you are like me and consider yourself a cookie monster you must try this great recipe for Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease your cookie sheets. In a large bowl combine the sugar and softened butter/margarine. With your mixer beat until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla and mix some more. Mix in the sifted flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add the oats and chocolate chips. The dough will be very stiff. If you feel it’s too stiff add a bit of water. Add just a little bit at a time.
