Grandma’s Buttermilk Lemon Pound Cake is a delicious treat. This cake was a huge hit during family dinners. Enjoy! Sift flour, salt, baking soda, baking power, and nutmeg into a bowl. In a large mixing bowl add butter and sugar together and mix until smooth. Include eggs and continue to mix until smooth. Add half of the 3 cups of flour to the mix along with half of the 1 cup of buttermilk and mix until smooth. Add the rest of the flour and buttermilk and continue to mix. Make sure to grease and flour your cake pan before placing the cake batter in to the pan. Preheat oven at 375 degrees. Add batter to cake pan and place in the oven. Bake cake for 40-50 minutes or until golden brown. Before removing cake from oven make sure to check cake to see if it is done. Let cool for 20 minutes, cut and serve. You can use either a glaze frosting or fresh fruit to decorate.
