How Do You Make Grandmas Baked Spaghetti?
This is how my Mom always made spaghetti and I kept up the tradition with my family. It is very simple and very good tasting! Children and adults love it. All you need is to serve a salad and some garlic bread with it and you have a complete meal! Brown 1 lb. hamburger and 1/2 cup chopped onion together in a large skillet. Add 1 qt. of tomato juice (I use home canned but from the grocery works fine), 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce, 1/2 tsp. brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. white sugar, 1 tsp. oregano, 1 tsp. Italian seasonings, 1/2 tsp. salt. Simmer all this together for about 10 min. Place the cooked spaghetti in a 9×13 glass baking pan and then ladle the sauce over the spaghetti, stir it in. Drizzle the top in a back and forth motion with ketchup and then sprinkle with pepper. Place in a 350 degrees oven and bake for 45 minutes. Serve with Parmesan Cheese for those who wish to use it.
