On a cold winter day, nothing feels better than a pair of glove liners inside your leather work gloves. Cut sleeves off an old sweatshirt, then cut down the length of the sleeves to make a flat piece of material. Make the pattern by laying your hand and arm flat on a piece of a brown paper grocery bag. Spread fingers wide apart. Trace around your hand and fingers, leaving about 3/8 inch of extra material on all sides. (For mitten liners, just hold fingers together and trace.) Leave 3 to 4 inches above wrist for elastic. Fold sweatshirt material with the right sides together. Pin pattern to material and cut the pattern out of the sweatshirt material. Pin right sides of “hands” together. Sew “hands” together using a 1/4-inch seam allowance along all outside edges. Clip seams at curves, between fingers and fingertips.
