How Do You Make Fused Glass Watchbands?
Fused glass is an increasingly popular home craft technique for creating beautiful creations in colored glass and reflective metal. The flat, rectangular pieces created by glass fusing make an excellent foundation for a high-fashion jewelry watchband. Create your watchband using metal soldering techniques and proper planning for length and comfort. Measure the wrist of the person who will wear the watchband with a piece of string. Wrap the string snugly around her wrist, but not so tightly that it cuts into her skin. Fit the small pieces of fused glass into metal settings. Attach them to the insides of the settings with jewelry glue. The number you’ll need depends on how big your glass pieces are and the size of the person you’re fitting the watch to, so make sure you have enough to equal the length of the string you measured in step 1, minus the length of your watch face.
