How Do You Make Furry Boot Covers?
Change the look of a plain pair of pull-on boots by making some furry boot covers. You could add a subtle, thin strip of mink-like fake fur to the top of dressy boots, or give your casual boots a funky look by adding a wide strip of shaggy fur. A sheepskin cuff at the top of suede boots will give them a style similar to that of popular Ugg and Whooga boots. For extra pizzazz, make a fur anklet. Making furry boot covers requires very little sewing, and, while it is done most quickly and easily with a sewing machine, they can be sewn by hand. Measure the distance loosely around the top of the boot. Add 1 inch. Measure from the top of the boot down to the point where you want the bottom edge of the fur to end. Add 1/2 inch. Cut a strip of fur as long around and as wide as these measurements. Cut a strip of lining fabric 4 inches wide and as long around as the measurement taken in Step 1.
