Finger Butterflies are easy to make from recycled materials. The butterfly will flap its wings and be a pretty toy to sit on your child’s finger. Cardboard from tissue boxes works fine. CUT your paper to a rectangle that is 2″ by 6″. Fold it in half. Now it should now be 2″ by 3″. Set it on your table with the fold at the bottom. DRAW the letter “m” on one side for the butterfly wings. Make your “m” almost as large as the space of paper. Now, RESKETCH the SIDES of the letter “m” inward to make a heart shape. The heart shape should have no point on the bottom. REMEMBER to leave the folded bottom of the wings an inch wide so your wings will stay attached to each other. CUT along your lines to make the symmetrical butterfly wings. (Tape can connect the wings if you accidentally cut the bottom too narrow.) COLOR your beautiful butterfly.
