How Do You Make Full-Size Bunk Beds?
There are many bunk beds available for sale in any city, as well as patterns for do-it-yourself bunk bed kits. However, the vast majority of bunk beds are for twin-size mattresses. If your child wants or needs a larger bed, putting together a full-size bunk bed is a fairly simple DIY project. While it’s possible to just alter the dimensions of a twin-size kit, you may need to make some adjustments to accommodate for the extra weight. To do it yourself from scratch, use these steps. Assemble a square using two 75-inch beams and two 35-inch beams. Attach them so they stand on edge (not flat on the floor), with two wood screws at each point of attachment. Drive the screws through the flat of the short beams, into the ends of the long beams. Position the screws 1/2 inch from the top and bottom of the beams. Drill two holes in each corner, using a drill bit the diameter of your bolts. Place the first hole one inch from the inside edge of the long beam, one inch from the top of the short bea
