How Do You Make Fruity Cream Cheese Pinwheels?
Pinwheels make excellent appetizers for any party or event. They are easy and quick to make for any occasion. The following recipe is a fruity variation of the traditional pinwheel. In a small mixing bowl, combine preserves and softened cream cheese. Using an electric mixer or spoon, mix ingredients until cream cheese and preserves are well blended. Place a large flour tortilla on a piece of wax paper. Spread a layer of cream cheese mixture on tortilla. Adding too much will make messy pinwheels. Add a layer of prosciutto ham, thin-sliced deli ham, or thin-sliced deli turkey on top of the tortilla. Roll the tortilla up to form a tight roll, then wrap in wax paper and tape closed. Place wax-paper wrapped rolls in freezer for 1-2 hours. Remove wax-paper wrapped rolls from freezer, unwrap, and slice into 1 inch sections. 9-10 pinwheels can usually be produced from a large tortilla. Place on serving plate. Enjoy!
