Making friends is easy for some people and harder for others. I thought I might clear a few things up. Making friends is not for “those people” who love to talk about themselves. Just like any relationship, friendship takes work. Step 1 The first step is simple. Introduce yourself to the potential friend. The initial conversation should focus on what the two of you have in common. A good example is work. You can talk to a co-worker about the job or the boss. Step 2 The next thing you want to do is to make sure you do not fabricate information. Many people are labeled as a “liar” because they want to be more interesting. Be honest! Don’t even exaggerate! Step 3 Many people love to talk about themselves. Only talk about yourself if the potential friend asks, or if you have an “interesting” thought related to his/her comment.
