How Do You Make Fried Ice Cream With No Frying?
Mexican restaurants are known for serving fried ice cream. It’s a luscious cinnamon laced ice cream dessert. But who wants to fool around with dangerously hot oil spattering in the kitchen? Not me! This is a recipe that comes close to the fried version, but with none of the grease. Here’s a way to make some great non-fried “fried ice cream.” It’s time for a fiesta! Form the ice cream into eight balls. Place them on a lined cookie sheet. Cover with wrap, and keep in freezer until later. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Put the cornflakes into a gallon size ziplock bag. Squeeze the air out and close it securely. With a rolling pin, roll the bag, crushing the cornflakes into crumbs. Add the soft brown sugar and cinnamon to the melted butter and mix well. Place crumbs and butter mixture into a large bowl. Stir to coat the flakes. Spread the crumbs on a cookie sheet.
