You can make your own floor-maintenance solution for use with an ordinary buffer. Rinse the 1-gallon plastic jug thoroughly to make sure there is no residue inside. Pour 8 ounces of floor finish into the jug. Add 4 ounces of liquid dish-washing detergent to the floor finish. Don’t skimp on the detergent–this is the key ingredient in your solution.
