To make a creative little accessory for a drink, you can join two bending drinking straws into a heart that floats at the surface of a drink. This can also be a nifty way to give someone a ring, such as when proposing! • Stretch two straws so that the bending part is elongated. • Cut off the short ends of the straws to about half an inch (1 or 2 cm). • Hold the cut ends together with pliers and seal them together with a flame. • Cut the other ends of the straws to about 2 inches (5 cm) depending on how “tall” you want the heart to be. • Bend the straws in the opposite direction, as shown. • Hold the ends together with pliers and seal them together with a flame. Put the heart in a drink and, if you want, tie a ring to it with a piece of string so that when someone lifts out the heart, they find it! The heart is complete!
