How Do You Make Floating Flower Arrangements?
These were inspired by some flower arrangements I saw in India. An advantage of this style of arrangement is that you don’t need stems, so you can use almost any flower, or floral material to create a carpet of blooms over the surface of the water. Gather some flowers. If flower are out of season where you are you can cut the stems off commercial flowers, but it’s more fun to pick them from your yard if you have that option. Find a dish. You want surface area to work with. A low wide dish is ideal, and you can get up to enormous sizes, but to start try something about the size of a soup bowl. Be flexible. Even goblets can work. If you’re planning to use these as centerpieces, a clear container will make them easier to see from the side while seated at the table, but there seems to be an element of drama that an opaque container adds.
