How Do You Make Flannel Baby Blankets?

0

Flannel baby blankets are popular year round for infants. The store bought flannel baby blankets sold in packages are usually small, thin, and cheaply made with low-grade flannel. Here are some incredibly easy directions to make much nicer ones yourself at a fraction of the cost of the ready-made baby blankets. The baby blankets made from these directions are a wonderful double thickness weight and much larger than the packaged ones, making them usable not just by infants but toddlers as well. Lay the 1 yard of printed fabric out on a flat surface, right side up. Lay the the solid color fabric on top with the right side down. Trim the edges so that they are completely even. You may want to do this with a yard stick, so you can make sure the edges of the blanket are even. Using a sewing machine, sew around all the edges of your rectangular baby blanket with a half-inch seam. Leave an opening of 5 inches in the middle of one side. Turn the baby blanket right side out through the opening.
