How Do You Make Felt Play Food?
All kids love imaginary play, especially when they can pretend to be a grown up. Cater to their whims and learn how to make felt food with practically no effort at all. Your only limitation is your own imagination. Ask your child to tell you about her favorite foods, and then pick one item to create. Pizza is an ideal felt food project to complete, and you don’t even need a sewing machine. Have your child decide what will go on her pizza and then ask for her help in choosing the correct colors of felt. Use an air-soluble fabric pen to trace an 8-inch circle on beige felt for the crust. For the sauce, trace another 6-inch circle on red felt. Cut out the circles. Cut small strips of white felt to use as pretend mozzarella cheese. Top with green felt pepper slices, bits of gray felt mushrooms and red felt pepperoni circles. The topping possibilities are endless.
