This type of rug is simple enough that your children can help make it and be entertained at the same time. Gather all the fabric that you need for making a rug. You can recycle any old clothes that you have or buy some material from thrift stores and your local craft stores or Wal-Mart. You can use a color scheme for your rug, such as blue and yellow braids, or just throw colors together. Cut the material into 2 1/2-inch wide strips.
